SEND Defender is a SEN advocacy business supporting parents and carers across England as they navigate the special educational needs system. Founded by Kate, who is Level 3 SEN law qualified, the business specialises in helping families through working with schools, EHC needs assessments, EHCP reviews and tribunal preparation, grounded legal knowledge in a way parents can understand.
What sets SEND Defender apart is lived experience. Kate is a SEN mum to three children, two of whom went through school avoidance and trauma before finding the right alternative provision, and that journey shapes how the business operates. Clients aren't just given advice and information, they're given someone who has sat exactly where they're sitting and knows how overwhelming, isolating and lonely the system can feel from the inside.
SEND Defender operates a direct-to-family, offering services including SEN Clarity Calls, Deep Dive sessions, EHC plan reviews and tribunal support, alongside a growing range of digital products, for parents who want to understand the system on their own terms.
The business is looking to scale beyond a solo operation, to support a growing client base while keeping the same level of personal, informed care at the centre of everything.
